Heatwave are proud to deliver the design and build of the gas installation and high-temperature ventilation extract system for Manukau Institute of Technology & Unitec Fire Training Facility at Mt Albert.
With extreme temperatures, controlled fire conditions and live fire training, the systems needed to perform reliably in a highly demanding environment, while maintaining a strong focus on safety for trainees and instructors.
The project involved a detailed and extensive design process, including HAZOP (Hazard and Operability) reviews to identify potential hazards, assess operational risks and ensure appropriate safeguards were incorporated into the design.
From the initial concept and design through to installation and commissioning, Heatwave worked through the unique challenges of the facility to deliver a system suited to the demanding environment.
Working in an environment where heat, fire and gas are part of the training brings a whole different level of complexity - and it's exactly the type of challenge our team enjoys taking on.
Great work by for Manukau Institute of Technology & Unitec along with the Heatwave team in bringing this unique facility to life.
