Another bathroom transformation done and dusted in The Gap! This one was all about getting the groundwork right before a single tile went down – a 40mm screed bed laid to proper falls so water runs straight to the new floor wastes, not pooling at the edges or door.
From there we set out and laid the client's own 600x600 tiles across the floor and walls, keeping the large format edges flush and the joints lined up floor to wall. You'll notice the handy tiled ledge built into the shower for shampoo and soap, plus a smooth door ramp at the entry so there's no awkward step between rooms. Everything's finished off with flexible silicone in the corners and at the floor-to-wall junction, so it moves with the house instead of cracking.
Big format tiles like these show up every imperfection, so getting the screed flat and the setout square really pays off in the finished look. Happy with how clean and simple this one turned out.
