Since 1987 we’ve been producing award-winning design in a collaborative and creative atmosphere where architecture is a way of life, not just a profession. We believe the best solutions are born out of a process of collaboration - so we work in an open studio where walls and doors are sparse, offices and cubicles are non-existent and well-behaved pups are welcome!

Today marks a BIG day, Katrina's 20th APMA Anniversary! Katrina helped found APMA's interior design discipline and, over two-decades, has helped turn APMA into a leader in the interior design industry. Matching her fun and unique personality, her designs have pizzazz and flair :)

What an honor for our clients at Omaha Public Library and Heritage Omaha to see Omaha Central Library featured in Architectural Record! The embrace of this landmark building by our community and the national design community continues to humble us. We are proud of our work leading the interior architecture and congratulate our design partners at HDR on the core and shell exterior design.

The state-of-the-art facility is home to an innovation incubator and automated storage and retrieval system that is the size of a building itself.

The excitement was high for the beam signing of Project Game On Omaha, a project designed by us! The new Butler-Gast YMCA-North Omaha building and stadium for North High are hitting construction milestones. Stakeholders, the design team, and community members all had the opportunity to sign a beam that will be installed in the building, while also hearing about the latest updates.

Friday night lights will look pretty cool at North High stadium come 2027!

We are thrilled to share Omaha’s new year-round, indoor, nonprofit public market - Public Market Omaha!

APMA is honored, along with our partners, to have designed the three-story, 50,000-square-foot market. Located along the riverfront in downtown Omaha, this amazing project will serve as a vibrant community destination, featuring local foods and goods, a teaching kitchen, a rentable event space, an outdoor plaza for pop-up markets, and an event lawn designed for year-round programming.

More than a marketplace, this project will create opportunities for connection, education, and economic growth while celebrating the people and products that make our community unique.

What if a library's shelving system could do more than store books? The new Omaha Central Library reimagines how collections are stored, accessed, and discovered through a three-tier collection access model. Automated storage preserves access to the full depth of the collection, traditional shelving keeps high-demand materials within easy reach, and curated displays turn everyday pathways into opportunities for discovery. Together, these layers balance efficiency with browsability, strengthening circulation across the library system while creating a more dynamic, community-centered destination for learning, exploration, and connection.

Omaha’s new Central Library introduces a major innovation: an Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS), the first of its kind in any public library worldwide.

The ASRS houses less requested pieces of the library system’s vast collection in a compact, efficient environment and can locate and deliver items to patrons within minutes. By encouraging all branches to thoughtfully curate their collections and shift lower demand items into the ASRS at the Central Library, high interest materials become more visible and easier to browse across all locations, and more space is opened for community use.
