Completed Project | Tākou Bay - Mataatua Marae

We’re proud to share this finished Marae project, which was delivered in two stages:

Stage 1: a new wharekai and wharepaku, with a commercial-grade kitchen, servery hatches through to the dining spaces, and new ablutions.

Stage 2: a new wharenui, with a raised gable ceiling, open floor and covered verandah.

Big thanks to the local whānau, the many involved with funding and consultant and contractor input to this project, and Procraft Construction for the quality of the build.

What actually happened: 44 houses in 2 years. 😅

It started with farm sheds, a building apprenticeship and joinery, and then came the plunge into business.

We learned a lot through the school of hard knocks, and we still design with the build in mind.

Roof is on, joinery is in, the house is ready for cladding, and inside all of the pre-pipe and pre-wire has been completed.

Next step - cladding, then insulation and lining.

2026 will be 'the year we should have all built homes'.
