Wine, cycling and surveying. In the Hurunui, they are coming together in one exciting community-led project.
We are pleased to have contributed, in a small way, to the ๐ช๐ฎ๐ถ๐ฝ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฎ ๐ฉ๐ฎ๐น๐น๐ฒ๐ ๐๐๐ฐ๐น๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐ช๐ฎ๐น๐ธ๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐ง๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ถ๐น, working alongside the Hurunui Trails, local winemakers, landowners, businesses and passionate supporters.
These photos show the project in the depths of winter, with the foundations now in place for the new bridge over Omihi Creek. The completed bridge will connect the 7 km off-road loop, linking people with the vineyards, cellar doors and landscapes of the Waipara Valley.
Projects like this take time, coordination and plenty of grit. We are proud to play a small part and look forward to seeing the bridge come together, the trails connect and spring arrive in the valley.
There is still funding to raise to complete the bridge and connecting trails. Find out more or support the project by clicking the link in the comments.
