Keep your heat pump working properly through winter. A clear unit with good drainage can help protect performance, reduce strain, and lower the risk of a breakdown when you need heating most.

Start by removing leaves, grass, and wind blown debris from around the unit. Make sure airflow is not blocked and check that water can drain away freely rather than pooling or freezing nearby. If the area is muddy, overgrown, or packed with rubbish, the system can struggle to run efficiently.
