🎃 Share, Follow & Help Us Raise Money for Macmillan Cancer Support and Brain Tumour Research !

This Halloween, we're doing something a little different, and we'd love your help!

For every person who follows our page AND shares this post between now and 31st October, we'll donate £1 to Macmillan Cancer Support and Brain Tumour Research.

These are two causes incredibly close to our hearts.

In 2022, our director Harry was unexpectedly diagnosed with a brain tumour and underwent immediate, debilitating treatment.

Then, in 2024, we tragically lost Lee, a dear friend and colleague, to a brain tumour. Both Harry and Lee were only in their 40s when diagnosed.

Thankfully, Harry is doing so much better, thanks to the incredible care and support he received. 💚

This year, Harry has grown some ENORMOUS pumpkins to help raise money for the charities that supported him and continue to make a difference to so many others.

🎃 And we have three Giant Pumpkins to give away!

📚 A little gardening inspiration...

Last week, Helen took some time to organise her collection of gardening books, uncovering some lovely pieces along the way.

Among them was 'Beautiful Flowers and How to Grow Them', published in 1909, complete with beautiful hand-drawn illustrations.
She also rediscovered a copy of 'From the Ends of the Earth' by Christian Lamb, which includes a lovely note to Helen’s grandmother. The two were contemporaries and shared a love of Cornish gardens.
The collection also includes some more recent acquisitions, including The Garden Planner by Robin Williams, who Helen had the pleasure of meeting earlier this year.

Gardening books are a wonderful source of inspiration, whatever their age.

🌿 A day of learning, sharing and looking ahead

At Muddy Wellies Gardens, we’re continually looking at ways to improve our services and develop the business.

Last week, our Director Helen attended a landscape business conference, with the opportunity to hear from inspirational speakers, meet industry peers and spend time working on our own business.

We even received recognition for the work we’ve been doing to develop the business and push ourselves further towards our goals. A great opportunity to reflect on where we are and where we want to go next.

Our mission is simple:

🌿 Meet Samantha
Customer Services & Business Operations Administrator

Next up in our Meet the Team series is Samantha, who helps keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes at Muddy Wellies Gardens.
With a degree in Garden Design from Falmouth University, Samantha has always had a passion for plants and the way they interact within a garden ecosystem. She loves watching plants flourish from seed to maturity and understanding the relationships between planting, from pollinators and edibles to the balance between different species.

Samantha now brings together three of her passions in her role with Muddy Wellies: gardens, people and paperwork!

Our team have worked hard to transform this disused space into a tranquil garden full of textured planting and landscaped design.

We can't wait to see this garden in all its glory once the planting establishes and the seeded lawn comes through.
