Textural, tactile and diverse planting for a natural and immersive family garden in Exeter.

Planted in May this year, the space already feels like it's been here for a while and is filling out well.

Now we're moving onto some planting design for the front garden. Some proper shots of the space next year.

GARDEN DESIGN CONSULTATIONS ✍️🌿

I am opening up limited monthly slots for garden consultations. A quick turnaround, cost effective option.

Ideal if you have a certain garden problem, design query, layout headache, or need specific planting advice to get you started.

1hr consultation online, or in person (within 30min drive of Falmouth) to discuss your needs and what you are looking for from the session.

Followed up with written advice, sketches if required, reference imagery, ideas, plant lists or product links.

Fixed price of £400.
Limited to X2 sessions p/month.

Victoria park village courtyard for built with in June. Unfortunately not many great pics as it was an all hands on deck kind of day, but this small plot was transformed into a hidden little oasis.

Existing trees and shrubs were lifted from indistinguishable blobs into structural multi stems. Evergreen topiary and a small selection of perennials and grasses were set amongst gravel, a small boulder steeping stone route and cobblestones from

The literal centre piece was a stone trough water feature with simple bespoke copper faucet. It's central location forces journeys through the various mini-zones of the space. The space had a feeling of being here for a long time, an instant sense of heritage.

A sun baked garden designed for entertaining, dining and shared moments in Falmouth, Cornwall.

Distinct zones, some more formal, others for more intimate casual moments are connected by a series of sweeping corten steel curves and beds of coastal drought tolerant planting.

An interesting corner plot, this is actually a front garden and needed some delineation between functional parking space and the more private main space. The snaking chunky larch and metal rail fence does that job and nestles into the planting on its way through. A highlight of the build for me!

Captured on a real hot and sweaty day in mid summer 🥵 Akebia quinata is creeping its way over the pergola to help with that.

Miscanthus nepalensis coming into its own, tassels swaying in the sea breeze in this small garden in Mousehole, Cornwall.

Designed and built May '24. Erigeron, Sesleria autumnalis and my all time fave Melianthus major also in the mix.

Space to lounge...

Circular, crazy slate paved patio, framed by oak sleeper screens. A raised spot for catching late afternoon sun.
