Some photos from the LSM archives bring back a lot of memories.

We were very sorry to hear of the passing of Gordon “Gord” Buechner. Many years ago, Gord worked here at Lee’s Sheet Metal. We came across this old photo of him with the LSM crew at one of our holiday celebrations in December 1987 while reminiscing.

It’s a snapshot from nearly 40 years ago, but a meaningful reminder of the people and friendships that have been part of LSM through the years.

Anyone who knew Gord knows that a photo can only capture a small part of the personality behind it. He was known for his jokes, his hard work, his love for his family and his ability to make people smile.

Gord eventually went on to build G&L Heating and Cooling, now Indoor Elements Mechanical, and became a familiar and respected part of the Grande Prairie trades community.

We’re grateful that LSM got to be one chapter in Gord’s story.

Our thoughts are with Lena, Gord’s children and grandchildren, his extended family, friends, coworkers and everyone whose life he touched.

Rest easy, Gord. You will be missed.

In Gord We Trust

The sudden passing of Gord has left a loss that is truly impossible to put into words. For his family, for everyone at Indoor Elements Mechanical, and for the many people in our community who had the privilege of knowing him, Gord was so much more than a co-owner and business leader.. he was a husband, a father, grandfather, a friend, a mentor, and a genuinely unforgettable person.

Gord had a way of making people laugh no matter the situation. He never missed an opportunity to tell a joke, share a story, or put a smile on someone’s face. His sense of humour was one of the many things that made him so special, but behind that humour was a man who was incredibly hardworking, generous, and deeply devoted to his family.

At Indoor Elements Mechanical, there is a running saying: “In Gord We Trust.” What started as a joke somehow became a perfect reflection of the man he was. Gord was someone you could count on. Someone who showed up, worked hard, cared deeply, and always found a way to make things a little lighter.
His absence will be felt in countless ways; in the shop, on the job, around the community, and most of all, around the people he loved so dearly. The impact he made on those around him will not disappear with his passing. His stories will be told, his jokes will be remembered, and his laughter will continue to echo in the memories of everyone lucky enough to have known him.

In Gord We Trust. Always.

Our deepest condolences and love go out to Gord’s family and everyone who is grieving this tremendous loss. He will be profoundly missed, but never forgotten.
