Masonry isn't a job you master in a week. It takes real training, hands-on time, and the kind of confidence that only comes from doing the work over and over until it's right. That's what we build at Lang Masonry: skill by skill, project by project, from laborer to journeyman to someone who can walk onto any job site and know exactly what needs to happen.

Right now we're looking to grow our team across Ohio and Kentucky. We're offering up to $1,500 in signing bonuses, 401(k) with company match, and travel pay. Only thing required, is a willingness to learn.

“There's always something to build.”

Abil Morales has been laying block with Lang Masonry for a few months, after already spending five to six years learning the trade at another masonry company.

Right now his crew is putting up the exterior walls on a new high school athletic facility: block that will carry that building for decades.

Mason to journeyman, journeyman to foreman, foreman to superintendent's helper. That's the path Abil's working toward, one wall at a time.

Meet Abil Morales. 🧱

Mason at Lang Masonry, building the exterior walls on a new high school athletic facility.

Before Lang, he spent five to six years learning the trade at another company. Now he's working his way from mason toward journeyman, foreman, and beyond.

“There's really no end to it. Just keep grinding and keep going forward, doing something better each and every day.”

Masonry isn't a fallback. It's a skilled trade with real room to grow.

📍 Now hiring across Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana, West Virginia, and the Cincinnati region.

Eric Smith worked at DuPont before he came here. No masonry background at all.

He started as a laborer. Two years in, he moved up to operator, and he has been running telehandlers and skid steers ever since. Eight years and counting.

"They've trained me with anything that I've needed to know or learn. The money's been progressively better every year."

He likes that it is never the same day twice. Schools, hospitals, the Nucor steel mill. Jobs close to home when he wants them, jobs further out when he does not.

And this, which every tradesman will recognize: "We drive by somewhere, I'm always telling my wife, hey, I got to work on that project."

If you are looking to change careers without going back to school and paying for it, this is what that looks like. You learn on the clock.

Eric Smith used to work at DuPont. He got out, went looking for something else, and found Lang Masonry.

He started as a laborer. Two years later he moved into the operator position and has been there ever since.
"And love it."

Now he runs telehandlers and skid steers, mixes mortar and grout, sets scaffolding, and gets the masons started every morning. "Whatever they need done, I get it for them immediately and keep them moving forward."

On the training: "They've trained me with anything that I've needed to know or learn and move forward on the job with."

On the pay: "The money's been progressively better every year."

On the variety: "I move from job to job. It's not one place all the time. You get to travel, which is great, and if you want to stay home, work closer to home. You see something different every day."

And the part every tradesman knows: "We drive by somewhere, I'm always telling my wife, hey, I got to work on that project." Schools. Hospitals. Nucor steel mill.

Career change with no masonry background, no tuition, and eight years of raises. If that is where you are right now: langmasonry.com/careers

"You'll love your job."

Jack has been at Lang Masonry about nine months. He is already running equipment.

He started as a laborer on the Nucor steel mill build in Apple Grove. After that job, the company moved him up to operator.

"On a daily basis, it could consist of operating any sort of machinery, from a grout hog to a concrete pump, pretty much anything. I help get mortar to the masons and whatever they need, from rebar to planks to scaffold."

He came up in construction; his whole family is in it. He was doing land clearing in Arizona before somebody who works here pointed him toward Lang.

What he says about the job: safety taken seriously, good people, consistent work, and pay that is really good.

And the part worth paying attention to if you are deciding what to do with your life right now:

"The opportunities and training that Lang can provide for you is getting your riggers license, welding, operating, becoming a mason. Pretty much anything that you want to learn or you're willing to learn, Lang will provide for you."

Rigging license. Welding. Operating. The trade itself. No tuition, and you get paid while you learn it.

Where he is headed: "I'd like to move up to maybe a foreman or superintendent. Anywhere this place could take me, I want to go."

We are hiring laborers, operators, and masons. Start where Jack started:
