Meet the newest addition to the fleet: the Leguan 190.
This tracked spider lift, with a 62’ working height, is an absolute game-changer for our pruning operations. With its ideal reach and stability, it allows us to tackle high-volume pruning and crucial defensible space projects with incredible efficiency.
It’s especially invaluable for working on trees like aspens—where trunks are too skinny to support a climber safely and they’re completely out of reach for traditional pole pruners. The crawler tracks also mean we can maneuver into tight spots while keeping ground impact minimal.
Getting properties dialed in and fire-safe just got a whole lot smoother. Give us a call if you’ve got thinning or crown work lined up this season!

What we’re looking for:
- Solid tree care background and accurate production-hour estimating
- Experience bidding crane jobs
- Knowledge of permits, utility coordination, and traffic control
- Strong communicator with good judgment
- ISA certification and Spanish are a plus

Pay:
- $6,000 to $7,000/month salary, April through November (DOE)
- $30 to $38/hour off-season
- 2% commission on closed jobs
- $65,000 to $90,000+ expected per year
- Fuel card, company iPad, SIMPLE IRA with 3% match
- Real path into leadership and long-term ownership for the right person

Here’s some action from a job we did for Tahoe Donner today. This snag was 92’ tall and 50” diameter at breast height (DBH). It was too rotten to climb and Tahoe Donner did not want any of the residual trees damaged. I’d say we nailed. I’m proud to have some of the best fallers in the business working for us.

Let’s give some much needed respect to the ground guys who are the backbone of these operations. Their job is to keep up with the material being flown in by the crane so the processing area stays clean and doesn’t get backed up with material. Of course everyone has a hand in keeping things running smooth and safe, but they climbers and crane operators are the ones who get all the love. But if the guys on the ground aren’t keeping up, it’s like being constipated. Everything else goes to s**t.

I’ll admit, this one even had me a little nervous with the wind blowing like it was, but these guys continue to crush it day in and day out while maintaining a safety record most tree companies would be jealous of.

I’ve been on the sales end of things mostly these last few weeks, so I haven’t had the opportunity to get as many photos of the crew as I’d like. Needless to say, we’ve been busy. Here’s a few pics of some of what we’ve been doing this season. More to come later as time permits.

Extreme hazards require extreme precision.
Taking down a hollowed-out tree of this size is all about risk management and technical skill. We don’t take chances—we take measurements. From the first cut to the final crane lift, safety is our #1 priority. Any guesses on what the butt log weighed?
