Water your grass.

A weak, heat-stressed, lawn thins and allows weeds to take over. Weeds don’t care—they’re gangsters—and they often grow much faster than grass.

But how and when you water matters.

INFREQUENT and DEEP watering helps encourage deeper root growth. This means your lawn can find water deeper in cooler soil than in the smoking hot and dry top inch.

Your goal should be 1” of water each week. This can be accomplished in one long, slow, watering, or broken up into two separate events.

Best time of day is early morning to avoid excessive evaporation and ensure the water soaks deeper (and stays longer). AVOID WATERING LATE IN THE DAY—wet grass blades overnight can lead to fungus and rot. Many people confuse these with drought stress and start to water more, exacerbating the issues.

Recap: once or twice a week, deeply, in the morning.

Responsibilities:

Lawn mowing, edging, trimming, and blowing
Landscape maintenance and seasonal cleanups
Operating commercial lawn equipment
Assisting with holiday lighting installations during the Christmas season

Requirements:

Reliable transportation
Valid driver's license
Ability to pass a background check
Strong work ethic and positive attitude

Preferred (but not required):

Lawn care or landscaping experience
Experience with Christmas lighting
Comfortable working on ladders and roofs
