At this point, we're convinced green is a neutral. And we're prepared to defend that opinion. 😉

Seriously though, is there anything this color doesn't look good with?

Dark wood, antique brass, marble, beautiful old rugs...green seems to get along with everybody.

We're especially loving the deeper, muddier shades that have a little gray or brown in them. They're gorgeous on cabinetry, walls, upholstery, and apparently an entire bathroom shower.

And unlike some colors we've had questionable relationships with over the years, this is one we're happy to keep around.

We have been known to get a little emotionally attached to a good floor plan. 😂

And yes, we will absolutely spend an unreasonable amount of time discussing the height of a pendant light or whether that one cabinet needs to be three inches wider.

But that's the stuff we get excited about!

Every project comes with its own challenges, a few surprises, and usually at least one decision that requires us to stare at something for an embarrassingly long time.

We've narrowed down five things we try to bring to every project. Some are obvious. Some might surprise you.

And if you've ever wondered what goes through an interior designer's head while we're working...well, there's usually a LOT going on up there. 😉

We have a few green flags when it comes to working with clients, and no, having your entire Pinterest board organized by room isn't one of them. 😂

We love a client who has an opinion, even if that opinion is “I absolutely hate that wallpaper.” Tell us! We'd much rather hear it now than after it's installed.

We love when someone is willing to consider something they wouldn't have picked on their own. Maybe it's a bold color, an unexpected fabric, or a light fixture that looks a little questionable until you see it in the room.

And please don't feel like you need to clean your entire house before we come over. We're here to figure out how your home works for you, not inspect your closets!

The best projects happen when everyone feels comfortable being honest, asking questions, and having a little fun along the way.

We've heard just about every version of "I think I need an interior designer, but..." and we promise, you don't need to have it all figured out before calling us!

Maybe you've been collecting inspiration photos for years but can't figure out how to make them work together. Maybe you're building a house and suddenly everyone needs you to make 4,782 decisions by Friday. Or maybe you just have one room that's been driving you absolutely crazy.

We get it. And we actually LOVE this part!

October has entered the chat, and apparently we're ready to light 37 candles, open every window for that fall breeze, and pretend Missouri isn't still flirting with 90 degrees. 🍂

We're having a little love affair with natural stone, beautiful wood grain, aged brass, soft linen and anything with a little history or character to it.

And while we love a good pumpkin moment, we don't necessarily need 47 of them to make a house feel like fall.

The best part? These are the kinds of details we'd happily keep around long after October.

Tell us you’re an interior designer without telling us you’re an interior designer. 😂

Our camera rolls are 847 photos of the same room, screenshots of things we need to remember, paint colors in every possible lighting situation, furniture, rugs, tile, countertops, light fixtures and approximately 62 photos of something nobody else would ever think needed photographed.

And we WILL remember the exact photo we’re looking for.

Will we be able to find it? Absolutely not. 😂

An organic bathroom is all about creating a space that feels warm, calming, and effortlessly collected. 🤎

For this mood board, we layered natural textures, warm wood tones, soft neutrals, organic shapes, and timeless finishes to create a bathroom that feels elevated without feeling overly designed.

We love a good sofa moment. 🤎

And yes, these are all technically “neutrals”...but they definitely don’t all say the same thing!

Warm and tailored, a little pattern, soft and creamy, or clean and classic. We pulled these four from Universal Furniture and honestly, we could build a beautiful room around every single one.

Because picking the sofa is only the beginning. Then come the rug, pillows, window treatments, art, tables...allllll the layers that give the room its personality.
