We say this a lot, but this may be one of our favorites!

We removed existing cabinets and two interior walls to open the space up and patched the floors from where the walls were removed.

Next was some new paint, ceiling texturing, installation of new cabinets and countertops as well as tile backsplash. We also trimmed out the window and added this center island with gas stove.

The most important part of your tile shower is the part you’ll never see and pretty tile can hide a lot of bad work.

Once the tile goes up, you can’t see the waterproofing, mortar coverage, prep work, or all the little details that determine whether that shower lasts 20 years… or starts causing problems in two.

That’s where hiring a Certified Tile Installer matters.

You’re getting:

🔨 Proper prep before the first tile is set
💧 Waterproofing done correctly
📐 Layout planned before installation starts
🧱 Proper mortar coverage & bonding
↔️ Movement joints where they’re needed
✂️ Clean cuts, corners & transitions
📏 Consistent spacing and attention to detail
✅ Installation based on industry standards — not “this is how I’ve always done it”

A good tile job shouldn’t just look good when we leave. It should still be doing its job years from now.

At CT Construction, we take tile installation seriously because fixing a failed shower costs a whole lot more than doing it right the first time. PLUS, we put the "CT" in CTI.

OK, goodbye 🫠😂

👋 Hey, we’re CT Construction.

We’re a locally owned remodeling company right here in Lincoln, Nebraska — built around a pretty simple idea: do good work, treat people right, and build something we’re proud to put our name on.

We specialize in kitchens, bathrooms, basements, additions and full-home remodels, but what we really do is help homeowners take the space they already have and make it work better for the way they actually live.

We’re not a giant company, and we don’t want to be. We’re a local crew with families of our own, and every project that comes through our doors helps support those families.

We handle a lot of the work in-house, we care about the details nobody sees, and we’ll probably crack a few jokes along the way. 😏

Registered. Fully insured. BBB Accredited. CTI Certified Tile Installers.

Kitchen remodel progress 👀

The new flooring is installed, cabinets are going in, and this space is finally starting to show off its new personality. Those dark cabinets against the warm wood tones are going to look GOOD once the countertops, backsplash, and finishing touches come together.

Still a construction zone—but definitely not the same kitchen we started with. Stay tuned for the finished reveal!

Had some fun with this one! Thanks Maven Tile & Home Design!
