This is one of the reasons I love what I do.

Wildlife control is basically problem-solving for a living.

Every house is different.
Every wildlife problem is different.
And sometimes the answer isn't obvious.

A homeowner might hear scratching in a wall, find droppings in the attic, see a bat flying through the house, or know that something is getting inside.

Then it's our job to figure out the rest.

What animal are we dealing with?

How did it get inside?

Where else could it get in?

And most importantly…

How do we solve the problem so the homeowner doesn't have to keep dealing with it?

That's the part I've always enjoyed.

After nearly two decades in the wildlife industry, I still like walking up to a property without knowing exactly what I'm going to find.

There's always another house to figure out.
Another problem to solve.
Another opportunity to learn something.

And at the end of it, we get to give someone peace of mind in their own home.

Pretty hard to beat that.

That's why I still love this industry.

When was the last time you looked at the outside of your dryer vent?

Probably not recently.

But when we're inspecting a home for mice and other wildlife, it's one of the places we're going to check.

Why?

Because your dryer vent creates a direct opening through the exterior of your home. If the cover is damaged, deteriorated, stuck open, or improperly installed, mice may be able to take advantage of it.

And when Nebraska temperatures start dropping, rodents are looking for exactly what your home provides: Warmth. Shelter. Food.

This is why solving a mouse problem requires more than putting out traps.

You have to think like a mouse.

Where would I climb?
What could I squeeze underneath?
What opening could I fit through?
Where does this vent lead?

Sometimes the entry point is obvious.

Other times, it's something as simple as a dryer vent that nobody thought to inspect.

At Bats to Rats, our approach to rodent control and exclusion is to identify how mice are getting into the structure and address those vulnerabilities, not just keep catching the mice that make it inside.

Don't just catch the mouse. Find the way in.

If you're hearing scratching in your walls, finding mouse droppings, or dealing with mice that keep coming back, it may be time for a professional rodent inspection.

Serving Lincoln, Omaha, and communities throughout Nebraska.

Scratching in the walls? Noises in the attic? Something moving around at night?

One of the most common things homeowners tell us is:

I know something is in there… I just don't know what.

And that's where the investigation begins.

Different animals leave different clues. Droppings, rub marks, damaged materials, chewed openings, nesting material, tracks, sounds, and even the location of an entry point can help us determine what we're dealing with.

But identifying the animal is only half of the mystery.

We also need to figure out how it got inside.

That's why a Bats to Rats wildlife inspection looks at the entire structure, from the foundation to the roofline.

We're searching for existing wildlife entry points AND vulnerabilities that could become the next entry point.

Because whether we're dealing with mice, bats, squirrels, raccoons, birds, or another nuisance animal, simply removing what's inside doesn't necessarily solve the problem.

The goal is to:

Identify the animal
Find how it's getting inside
Document what we find
Develop an exclusion plan
Help prevent it from happening again

Wildlife removal gets the animal out. Wildlife exclusion helps keep the next one from getting in.

If you've got a mystery animal making noises in your walls or attic, give Bats to Rats a call.

We'll get on the case.

What should you actually expect when Bats to Rats shows up to inspect your home?

We're not coming out just to confirm what you already know.

If you're hearing scratching in the walls, finding droppings, seeing bats around the roofline, or dealing with another wildlife problem, you already know something isn't right.

Our job is to figure out WHY.

A thorough wildlife inspection means methodically working around the property and looking at the places animals actually use:

Rooflines.
Soffits and fascia.
Vents.
Foundations.
Construction gaps.
Utility penetrations.
And those hard-to-reach areas most homeowners never see.

We're looking for evidence of wildlife activity, damage, potential entry points, and vulnerabilities that could allow animals into the structure.

We'll document what we find with photos and then explain it to you.

Because we don't want you to simply hear, You have bats or You have mice.

We want you to understand:

What is happening?
How are they getting in?
And what needs to be done to solve it?

That's where good wildlife control starts.

Not with guessing. With a thorough inspection and a plan.

If you're dealing with bats, mice, squirrels, raccoons, birds, or unexplained noises in your home, Bats to Rats provides professional wildlife inspections, removal, and exclusion throughout Lincoln, Omaha, and communities across Nebraska.

Sometimes solving a mouse problem means you have to think like a mouse.

When we're inspecting a home for rodent activity, we're not just looking for droppings or putting out traps.

We're asking: If I were a mouse… how would I get into this house?

That means getting down low, looking underneath siding, checking transitions in construction, inspecting foundation areas, utility penetrations, vents, doors, and all of those small gaps most homeowners would never notice.

Because mice don't need the front door left open.

They need one small vulnerability.

And once they find it, trapping the mice already inside only solves part of the problem.

The real goal is figuring out how they got there in the first place.

That's the difference between rodent control and rodent exclusion.

One deals with the mice you have today.

The other helps prevent the next mice from getting inside tomorrow.

So when we inspect a property, we're going to crawl around, look behind things, shine lights into gaps, and probably spend a little time thinking like a mouse.

Because that's how you find the real problem.

If you're finding mouse droppings, hearing scratching in your walls, or dealing with mice that keep coming back, Bats to Rats provides professional rodent inspections, mouse control, and rodent exclusion throughout Lincoln, Omaha, and communities across Nebraska.

Don't just catch the mouse. Find the way in.

Can mice really get into your home through a dryer vent?

Absolutely and it's one of those areas most homeowners probably never think to check.

Dryer vents create an opening from the exterior of your home into the structure. When a vent cover becomes damaged, stuck, deteriorated, or isn't properly protected, it can become an opportunity for mice and other wildlife.

And as Nebraska temperatures start dropping, rodents begin looking for three things: Food. Shelter. Warmth.

Your home can provide all three.

That's why dryer vents are one of the areas we look at during a thorough wildlife inspection.

But here's the important part: Finding mice inside isn't the same thing as finding out how they're getting inside.

You can trap mice over and over again, but if an exterior entry point remains open, you're only dealing with the animals that made it inside, not the reason they're there.

At Bats to Rats, we approach rodent control differently.

We inspect the structure.
We identify potential entry points.
We look for evidence of activity.
And then we develop an exclusion plan designed to help keep wildlife OUT.

Sometimes the solution isn't another trap.

Sometimes it's fixing a two-inch opening nobody thought to check.

If you're hearing scratching in the walls, finding mouse droppings, or noticing other signs of rodent activity, especially as temperatures begin to fall, it may be time to have the exterior of your home inspected.
