With the recent dry conditions, now is the time to make sure your fescue lawn is getting the proper amount of water to stay healthy and green. Existing fescue lawns should typically receive around 1–1.5 inches of water per week, including rainfall. Deep, consistent watering is much better than frequent light watering, as it encourages stronger root growth and helps your lawn handle heat and drought stress more effectively.

Early morning watering is best to reduce evaporation and help prevent disease. If your yard is starting to look dull, dry, or showing footprints that remain visible after walking across it, those are signs your lawn may need more moisture.
