Yesterday, we celebrated the ribbon-cutting of Foxtail 26!

Located within the Foxtail Meadows Neighborhood, Foxtail 26 brings 26 new, high-quality rental homes to Southwest Lincoln. Six of these homes are dedicated to refugee families, with a 20-year affordability covenant helping preserve long-term housing affordability.

All 26 homes are thoughtfully integrated into the larger mixed-income Foxtail Meadows Neighborhood, where residents enjoy access to parks, playgrounds, and green space.

A special thank you to our project partners PrimeSites Real Estate, Hoppe Homes, Good Neighbor Community Center, Nebraska Department of Economic Development, Pinnacle Bank, City of Lincoln Government, DeOld Andersen Architecture, and Clark & Enersen for helping bring this community to life.

Together, we are expanding access to quality, affordable housing.

Last week, Hoppe Development officially opened Stoddard Place!

A former elementary school in Beatrice, NE, turned into high-quality, affordable senior housing. This project created 25 apartment homes with a mix of affordable and market-rate residences.

Throughout the redevelopment, Hoppe preserved meaningful elements of the original school, including exposed brick interiors and a wall of classroom clocks.

Our CEO, Jake Hoppe, recently had the opportunity to speak at the latest Lincoln Chamber of Commerce’s Face the Chambers Series event.

Jake spoke about the growing need for affordable housing and the innovative approaches Hoppe Development is taking to help bridge the gap.

The conversation highlighted the importance of building affordable housing at scale, creating communities, preserving existing affordable housing, and developing solutions that respond to the unique needs of each neighborhood.

The North Omaha Trail and Chambers Court Call for Artists is open!

Spark CDI, Amplify Arts, and Hoppe Development are teaming up to open a call for artists to create 13 new public artworks along the North Omaha Trail and at Chambers Court.

We’re looking for artists with strong connections to North Omaha who want to make work that engages its history, culture, communities, and future.

✨ No formal arts education required.
✨ No previous public art experience required.
✨ Emerging artists are encouraged to apply.
✨ Artists working in any discipline are welcome.

This is a call for artists, so you don’t need to submit a proposed artwork or design. We want to see the work you’ve already made and learn about your practice and connection to North Omaha.

With the opening of Porchlight Apartments, 125 new affordable homes become part of the South of Downtown neighborhood, bringing greater stability, opportunity, and well-being to individuals and families in Lincoln. That’s in part because this development includes both the new home of Clinic with a Heart, which offers free health and dental care, and community spaces designed to bring neighbors together.

The City supported this project with $2.77 million in financial assistance, working alongside an incredible group of federal, state, community, and neighborhood partners to bring it to life.

Since setting the goal to create or rehabilitate 5,000 affordable housing units by 2030, the City has supported 3,270 units across Lincoln. With each new project like Porchlight, we’re helping more of our neighbors enjoy the comfort, security, and opportunity that come with having a wonderful place to call home.
