Finally finished with my larger projects and was able to make more 1-on-1 visits with pet-loving customers!

Cloud got a new ceiling fan and light fixture

Piper got some updated smoke detectors. Remember, smoke and CO detectors should be replaced every 10 years!

Mocha has several light fixtures to be replaced!

Finn and Honey got a new outlet above the fireplace for a frame TV. Apparently Honey doesn’t like strangers. 🤔 Could have fooled me!

SanDee got a new Ring security light installed on the front of her garage.

Snickers’ doorbell stopped working. Luckily it was just a loose wire, so nothing needed replaced!

New van has arrived! Now to find someone to hire… 🤗

Tuesday Tip Day with Koepke Electric

I get many calls asking if I repair lamps. While it is something I CAN do, it’s not REALLY something you want to pay an electrician to do. I recommend Conner's Architectural Antiques at 17th and South to all who ask me.

Tuesday Tip Day with Koepke Electric

If you have a light bulb that doesn’t always work or seems to fail prematurely, it could be a poor connection inside the socket. Often the tab that makes the electrical contact has been pushed back from over tightening of the light bulb. While it seems counterintuitive, over tightening a light bulb can cause it to make a poorer connection. Assuming the tab in the socket is not already pushed back, I recommend screwing a light bulb in while the switch is on; once it lights up, give it another quarter turn and stop. This will prevent you from putting too much pressure on the tab.

It was a good week for pets!

Clover and Lyle got a new vanity light installed!

Smores had a faulty breaker replaced.

Quinn and Griffin had three bedroom light fixtures replaced.

Butler needed some troubleshooting for loss of power to a circuit.

Tiff got a new outlet for a sump pump. Installed just in time with all this recent rain!

Mama is looking to get a kitchen update in and older home. That means more circuits!

Mia had a problem with her basement bathroom exhaust fan. I replaced the “guts” of the exhaust fan and discovered she had a sprinkler head that was spraying water into the duct from the outside!

Birdie got a new circuit in n the basement. I also reinsulated old wires that had brittle insulation.

Tuesday Tip Day with Koepke Electric

One of the best tips I can give any homeowner is to map out the electrical in your house. Having a labeled panel is great, but having a layout of the house that shows the circuit each outlet and light is on is even better.

Not only will this help the homeowner find a turn off (or back on) specific circuits, it will cut the time needed for an electrician to troubleshoot an electrical issue. That could mean a significant savings for the homeowner!
