Is your sump pump ready? Here's a quick way to check if it's working properly:

1. Pour water into the sump pit. The float should rise and trigger the pump to turn on automatically.
2. Listen for the pump running and watch water discharge out the pipe.
3. Check the discharge line is clear and water flows away from your foundation.
4. Make sure the power cord is plugged in and not damaged.
5. Test the backup battery (if you have one) by unplugging the pump briefly.

A working sump pump is your basement's best defense against flooding. If you notice it's not turning on, making strange noises, or not draining properly, that's a sign it needs service. We can test it for you and get it fixed fast.
