Bark scorpions do not go dormant when nights cool — they migrate. Late-August lows in the mid-80s keep them hunting outdoors, but as September and October drop nighttime temps into the 60s, the same population presses indoors for the warmest, most stable microclimate available: your house.
Blue Diamond sits at the mouth of Red Rock Canyon with no suburban buffer between homes and Mojave open desert. That geography means bark scorpion pressure at the perimeter is as high as anywhere in the Las Vegas Valley, and the entry map is unforgiving:
