Quick pantry check for Palm Beach County homeowners 🏠

South Florida humidity is great for silverfish and pantry pests, and they love stored dry goods. Before your next grocery run, take 30 seconds to check:

✅ Flour: clumps or webbing
✅ Rice: tiny holes or moving specks
✅ Cereal: damaged bags, fine dust
✅ Pet food: open bags are easy targets
✅ Spices: clumps, holes, old stock

If you find something, toss it, wipe down the shelf, and store what’s left in sealed hard plastic or glass containers.

Bonus: silverfish also go after damp cardboard, so check under the sink too.

Not sure what you found? Give us a call at 561-964-7003.

🌧️It is rainy season myth-busting time!

Myth: "My AC runs all day, so humidity can't be a problem."

Fact: your AC cools the air, but that's not the same as controlling moisture. Even with it running nonstop, a few common culprits can let dampness build up:

💧 A clogged or leaking condensate drain line — a very common South Florida issue, and that slow drip near the air handler or in the attic is basically a welcome mat for ants, roaches, and termites
💧 Ducts leaking or sweating in a hot, humid attic, which can soak the insulation
💧 The thermostat is set really low, so cold surfaces meet humid air and sweat
💧 The fan is set to ON instead of AUTO, pushing moisture from the coil back into your house

If you're seeing damp spots or unwanted pests near your AC, give us a call at 561-964-7003, and we'll take a look.

Every case has a sequel. This one just happens to have whiskers.

Some of you may remember Cece — the roof rat we caught breaking into a South Florida attic last year. She got trapped, she got relocated, and we figured that was the end of the story.

It wasn't.

Cece resurfaced this month in a new home in Boca Raton, using the same M.O. that made her famous: a gap in the roofline and a chewed-through soffit vent. Same habits, new address, and a homeowner who started hearing that all-too-familiar scratching in the ceiling.

Our team traced the entry point, confirmed the culprit, and this time made sure she couldn't pull the same trick twice — sealing the vulnerability, not just catching the rat.

If you're in Boca Raton, Delray Beach, Boynton Beach, Lake Worth or West Palm Beach and something's moving in your attic, don't wait for your own sequel. Call Excellent Environmental Services at 561-964-7003. Or schedule online: https://bit.ly/3N8huMe"

Here's something a lot of people overlook during storm season: your gutters.

Clogged gutters and overhanging branches don't just cause water damage — they create the perfect conditions for pests. Standing water can breed mosquitoes in as little as 24 hours, and wet leaf debris gives termites an easy path straight to your roofline.

The good news? A few simple maintenance steps can stop it before it starts. Check out the video for 4 easy ways to keep your gutters pest-free this storm season.

Heads up, Palm Beach County — the remnants of Tropical Storm Dolly are expected to bring afternoon and evening storms through the weekend.

Great news for the drought, less great news for mosquitoes, who breed fast in standing water. Once the rain clears, it's time for a reset.

This month, take $25 off our one-time Heavy Rain Mosquito Fogging treatment.
