Since inception, pest control companies have expected homeowners to perform the most critical part of fumigation.
Think about that.
Inspections are handled by professionals.
Treatments are handled by professionals.
Fumigations are handled by professionals.
But the preparation itself ?
Preparation sheets get handed to someone who’s never experienced fumigation before, and everyone HOPES they get it right.
Then we act surprised when:
• Customers become stressed out and overwhelmed
• Instructions are missed, and/or misunderstood
• Account Managers get pulled in
• Schedules get delayed
• Fumigators arrive to homes that aren’t ready
How many times have YOU heard “well, nobody told ME that!”?
The truth is that most homeowners don’t know what they’re doing, and they shouldn’t be expected to. They’re not pest control professionals. They’re homeowners.
Yet the most important parts of a successful fumigation is routinely placed in the hands of the least experienced person/people involved.
Then we wonder why there’s delays, frustrations, drive-backs, and last-minute problems.
The industry has accepted these outcomes as “part of the business” for so long that most companies don’t question the process itself anymore.
Why are we still expecting untrained homeowners to be responsible for the success or failure of a professional fumigation?
Because the same process will continue producing the same results.
The industry doesn’t have a fumigation problem. It has had a preparation problem.
Until NOW.
