Only the real ones bring out the drafting board.

In a world of AI everything, I’ll always value drafting by hand.

Just a girl.

The Linear House is complete.

A modern, open floor plan designed to flow from room to room, with light, material, and proportion considered at every turn. Exterior, interior, and bath, all finished.

Seeing a project go from first sketches to a finished home never gets old.

Those colorful markings on the street aren’t random — they’re telling you exactly what’s buried underground.
Before we break ground on any new project, Florida requires a call to Sunshine 811. Every underground utility gets marked and color coded so we know exactly what we’re working around before digging even starts.
Small step, but it’s what prevents serious accidents down the line.

Bad drywall and plaster jobs have been going viral for a reason — once you shine a light at the right angle, every imperfection shows.
This is exactly why our plaster contractor checks his work with raking light before it’s too late to fix. Catching streaks and uneven spots now means a flawless finish later.
Small step. Big difference.

Not all stucco is created equal — and this house has two very different finishes doing two very different jobs.
On the balcony parapets, we specified a smooth stucco finish for a clean, refined look. But on the walls where tile is going, the stucco is intentionally left rough. That texture isn’t a mistake — it’s what gives the mortar mix something to grip onto, ensuring the tile bonds properly and stays put for decades.
It’s a small decision most people never notice. But getting it wrong means tile that fails prematurely — and getting it right means it lasts the life of the house.
Tile is officially on site, and installation begins next week.

The Garden House just hit one of the most exciting phases — drywall is up.
MEP is complete, and now for the first time you can actually feel the spatial layout of every room. Metal framing to full drywall — this is when a house finally starts to feel like a home.

A few months ago we asked our followers to guess what this was.
It’s a floor mounted outlet — coordinated four months ago, before the slab was even poured, because code required an outlet on this wall and an oversized sliding door left us no other option.
Now the wires are running through conduit buried beneath the concrete, all the way to this little guy.
Building construction is magic.

There are a handful of decisions made during framing that you’ll never see in a finished photo — but they shape how the whole home lives.

Backing for floating vanities and heavy mirrors. Outlet placement based on how you’ll actually use the room, not just code minimums. Plumbing locations — including making sure the shower valve isn’t positioned right under the showerhead. And soffits designed for curtains or roller shades, with the Florida sun and privacy in mind from day one.

None of this shows up in the finished photos. But it’s exactly what makes a home function the way it’s supposed to.

Today’s my favorite day on site — because I get to tell grown men what to do.

Jokes aside — today was a full house. Mechanical, electrical and framing all on site at once, all needing an answer immediately. Loud, packed, a little chaotic — but the kind of chaos that means real progress.

This is what coordinating a real job site actually looks like.
