The kids weren’t around to help me in the garden or misbehaving today…

It was actually nice to have a bit of alone time for paperwork.

Anyhoo, I really enjoy having some quiet time, and watering the plants today was sooo relaxing!

Big school garden update— THANKS to Bri’s awesome donation, the irrigation/micro-sprinklers are in 💚

I don’t have to worry about the plants not getting watered over the weekends.

We will still hand-watering on the weekdays because the kids love it.

Another update on the school garden…

I was able to buy more mulch with a donation from Hearth & Earth 💚

More updates will follow tomorrow.
I’m thrilled to share our significant accomplishments thanks to Slightly Knowledgeable Gardener generous donation 💕

AND did you hear the roster crowd?
Yep, I’ve been at school a bit earlier lately. I just get so excited to work in the school garden l before the students arrive.

School garden update…

We’ve got mulch spread out, but we’re still short by 2-3 bags.

This is Cuban Oregano…

It also called Mexican mint, Spanish thyme and Indian borage. It is an awesome herb with thick leaves with a sweet, earthy scent that’s a mix of oregano, thyme, and mint.

Super easy to propagate!

Grow by cutting a 3- to 4-inch stem just below a leaf node and planting it in moist soil.

I replaced one of my 1 year old Castor Bean TREE with a pretty big patio —this particular Castor Bean was just not doing it for me anymore.

The newer leaves seemed stunt — way smaller than it’s supposed to be… I just needed something quick that will provide more protection for my plant babies!

This is NOT the BEST WAY to prune your mulberry!

I was trying to remove the tree by chopping chunks of it out at a time —as you can see, it did not work.

Just a little trim for the Texas Sage…
I’m not a fan of shaping plants into lollipop shapes —I prefer their natural, wild look…
