Don't Let the Sun Steal the Show 🌞

New desert-adapted plants need a little extra attention during their first summer. Water every 1–2 days during the first two weeks, then gradually increase the time between waterings until you're watering about once a week by weeks seven and eight. This encourages deeper roots and helps plants become more resilient in Arizona's desert climate.

I'm often asked - why does my summer Bermuda grass look awful under trees and in shade? Answer - because Bermuda grass must have 8+ hours of sunlight. Trees in and around grass areas also suck the water and nutrients from lawn areas as they develop shallow roots that invade the grass. Core aeration only improves existing Bermuda grass areas that receive full sun. It will not help to grow new grass in bare dirt and shaded areas. See photos below:
