The PLUGman Lawn Aeration and Landscape

10/25/2026

Now is the time for Lawn Core Aeration to improve seed germination prior to installing a winter lawn. Aeration also prepares your grass for winterization and a faster green-up next spring.

The past year’s winters have been mild and the Bermuda grass stays semi-green throughout the winter months with proper maintenance.

Don't Let the Sun Steal the Show 🌞

New desert-adapted plants need a little extra attention during their first summer. Water every 1–2 days during the first two weeks, then gradually increase the time between waterings until you're watering about once a week by weeks seven and eight. This encourages deeper roots and helps plants become more resilient in Arizona's desert climate.

A strong start today leads to a healthier, water-wise landscape tomorrow. https://bit.ly/45jRoeV

I'm often asked - why does my summer Bermuda grass look awful under trees and in shade? Answer - because Bermuda grass must have 8+ hours of sunlight. Trees in and around grass areas also suck the water and nutrients from lawn areas as they develop shallow roots that invade the grass. Core aeration only improves existing Bermuda grass areas that receive full sun. It will not help to grow new grass in bare dirt and shaded areas. See photos below:

Smart cat.

Meet Nelson! Our Clever Cat of the Month! 🐱

This cool cat isn’t just charming, he’s seriously water-wise. With a watchful eye on the yard and a no-nonsense approach to sprinklers, Nelson reminds us that water should go where it counts. Sidewalks? Driveways? Hard pass. Plants only.

Take a cue from Nelson: a wise kitty once said…Do not water sidewalks. Sidewalks do not grow.
