Japanese beetle larvae are highly destructive larvae that eat the roots of plants. Some shrubs and perennials are favorite hosts for the creature, such as Butterfly Bush, and sometimes itā€™s a random plant in your yard. These came from Geranium rootball areas.

Plants will look fine then start to wilt, then appear to die off quickly. When you remove the plant, it will appear to fall to the ground with no resistance. Dig into the soil and you may find these in the root zone.

Treatment uses a grubicide. Always read the label.

This Carson City front yard planter is complete! We removed all the juniper along the house this spring, and installed much better options to be firewise, lower maintenance, and be deer-resistant!

The flagstone is Mt. Moriah from Eastern Nevada, and the groundcover is path pebble from Cinderlite.

This Carson City backyard landscape is complete!

We removed about 1,400 square feet of sod, removed the old concrete patio, and all plants, except a really nice Bristlecone Pine and a Lilac.

The new paver patio will comfortably seat 12-15 and was built using Basaliteā€™s San Francisco Cobble in Donner blend color with a charcoal trim.

1/8ā€ steel edging divides the walkways and planter beds, which are filled with shrubs that will provide four seasons of interest.

Shade Concepts is installing a shade structure on the patio possibly next week, and after they finish, we will return to install the sand on the patio.

Itā€™s official! Weā€™ve adopted three trails at Prison Hill; the Sagebrush, Bitterbrush, and Rabbitbrush loops.

We are helping manage noxious weeds, remove litter, and remove dog p**p. Itā€™s a great trail system with amazing views of Carson City.

The shade structure is complete and this backyard patio in Carson City looks great!

Shade Concepts installed a 100% coverage roof for maximum shade and the brown color goes great with the Basalite Italian Renaissance in Venice color.

The dry creek and plants are installed! All river rock was moved from the backyard and repurposed in the dry creek. Dwarf plants that handle full morning shade and full afternoon sun add four seasons of interest to the area.
