The newly refitted LORNA JANE ACTIVE in Auckland’s Newmarket is a great example of why investing in your current retail footprint is arguably more important today, than opening new doors.

It was awesome to have the group from Future Youth (Kaipātiki) through Datum Projects recently.

They came through for an introduction to joinery and factory operations, to see things in action, and get a better understanding of what working in that type of environment may look like.

A big part of what Future Youth do is to give our rangatahi opportunities and exposure to real working environments, and it was a pleasure showing them what life in commercial construction is like!

A big thank you to all those who attended, the Datum team for putting it on, and to Timiana at Future Youth for making it all happen.

Site visits are where the details come together.

Plans and drawings are essential, but there’s no substitute for being on site. Regular site visits give our team the opportunity to check progress, confirm measurements, identify potential issues early, and make sure every element is being delivered as intended.

They also keep communication flowing between contractors, suppliers and clients — helping decisions happen faster and reducing the chance of costly surprises later.

For us, a successful fit-out isn’t just about the finished result. It’s about staying close to the project at every stage.
