Design, therefore storytelling.
A space should be able to tell a story. Narrative is an intrinsic characteristic of every place. Architecture is the natural outcome of a design process conceived as the expression of an identity, whether existing or newly created. Living spaces should convey a unified and coherent story.
To narrate a space means to understand it. This process begins the very moment a pencil draws its first lines on a blank sheet of paper.
R3
Founded in 2015 through the collaboration of Marco Pippione, Alexandru Popescu, Matteo Restagno, and Gian Nicola Ricci, R3 was born from a shared experience at the Politecnico di Torino. Having met as university classmates in classroom R3, they established their first temporary studio, creating within just 13 square meters a light and flexible structure that became the manifesto of their architectural vision.
The assimilation of place, functional devices, the use of vertical dimensions, the study of flows and circulation paths, the materiality of finishes, harmonious contrasts, and the concept of architecture within architecture are the core principles around which their projects revolve.
