Our Mobility team enjoyed a bottomless brunch this weekend as their prize for winning the Pickerings World Cup Sweepstake ⚽

We randomly assigned each department a different country taking part in the tournament and Mobility were lucky enough to receive eventual winners Spain 🏆

Unbeatable teamwork, quick-thinking, classy… The Spain team weren’t bad either!

👨🏻‍🔧 When they’re not celebrating winning the World Cup, our dedicated Mobility engineering team operate along the M62 corridor to expertly install, service and maintain stairlifts, through floor lifts and ceiling hoists.

Little room for improvement supporting a home improvement retailer 🔨

🥇 We recently scored top marks for our services maintaining over 200 lifts and travelators at DIY stores across the country.

We recently installed two escalators at a national fashion retailer’s new store in Brighton ↗️

It was a great effort from everyone involved, not least those responsible for transporting two escalators, each over 20 metres long, the length of the country 🚛🏗️

The coordinated project saw us working closely with our client and building contractors to efficiently remove the old unit at the site before we could replace it with the new escalators.

Our engineering team expertly installed, tested and commissioned the moving stairways on schedule ahead of the store’s grand opening 🎈🎉

Ahead of the Premier League kicking off again, we thought we’d expose the truth about our World Cup Kickabout video we shared this summer 😬

Our clever editing may have made our Pickerings colleagues look like seasoned soccer stars but after watching the deleted scenes, the circus are more likely to sign them than your local pub team 🤡⚽

If your club’s promising new signing turns out to be as incapable as we are with a football, I’m afraid we can’t help. If your lift is proving to be unreliable though, give us a shout!

We joined lift repair engineer Dave and trainee Naas as they delivered 5-star service to a luxury hotel in Yorkshire ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The lift in need of repair was critical to the hotel’s functions, not only bringing gourmet food up from the kitchen but also tables, chairs and other equipment for big events such as weddings 👰🏻‍♀️🤵🏻‍♂️

Due to the busy nature of the hotel’s operations and heavy use of the 1-tonne lift, accidents unfortunately do happen ❌

During a typically hectic day in hospitality, the gate was not closed properly before use. The door was forced off its hinges and became wedged between the car and shaft wall. The incident also cut a wire, meaning the lift had no power and could not be lowered. 🙏🏻 Thankfully no one was hurt.

Our engineers got straight to work. Keen fisher Dave applied his skills 🎣 hooking the door and levering it free with a winching chain. The pair then lifted it back onto its hinges and secured it in place.

Following a bit of fault finding, Dave replaced the broken gate lock and rewired the connection. This completed the circuit and allowed the lift to be safely lowered and brought back into operation.

The kitchen and events staff were particularly pleased that the lift was working again. Great work gents 👏🏻

Unfortunately, Dave and Naas had to move on to their next job before they could sample the Michelin-star cuisine on offer 🍽️
