🪵 Start with your logs on the bottom — they need to be properly dry, ideally our Inverness Bark kiln-dried hardwood logs 😉🔥

🔥 Build a good stack of dry kindling on top of the logs.

🔥 Add a couple of firelighters at the top and light them.

The fire then burns down through the kindling and into the logs, quickly building heat and creating a strong, clean burn with less smoke.

😂 It’s not just our bags of bark that are XXL!

We had a few comments about this beast yesterday, including one that made us laugh: “That’s the biggest trailer I’ve seen in my life!” 😂

There was a good reason for bringing out the big kit…

We received a last-minute request from a film production site needing more of our products — and they needed them quickly. As we couldn’t free up one of our lorries until later in the day, this XXL trailer was called into action! 💪

It was back and forth to the site all day yesterday, delivering XXL bags or decorative bark material to create pathways into certain areas which, unfortunately, we can’t tell you anything more about… 🤐🎬

And we’re back there again today with another load — although this time with a slightly smaller trailer! 😂

When a customer needs something quickly, we’ll always do our best to find a way to make it happen.

We’d love to tell you what’s being filmed, where those pathways lead and who might be walking along them… but our lips are sealed! 👀🎥

🍂 Autumn is the ideal time to give your garden a little protection before winter arrives.

As temperatures begin to fall and the first frosts draw closer, now is an excellent time to spread a generous layer of bark around beds, borders and established plants.

A good mulch does far more than simply make the garden look beautifully finished. It helps insulate the soil against sudden temperature changes, offering valuable protection to roots and newly planted bulbs, while also conserving moisture and suppressing weeds.

😂 We always say we go the extra mile for our customers… yesterday our driver went a little further — and straight over the edge! 🌊🤣

On his way to Achiltibuie to deliver 2 of our huge XXL bags of Nursery Bark (our small-grade bark), he stopped to grab what he thought would be the perfect photo.

What he didn’t realise was that the ditch in front of him was almost 5ft deep! 😳
Safe to say, he knows now — having practically swum his way back out of it! 😂💦 - the last picture shows what our driver called “the hole of doom!”.

And after all that, he still had a delivery to make in Achiltibuie — over a 5-hour round trip to get our XXL bags to another Highland customer. 🚚💨

We genuinely do go the extra mile… although perhaps next time we’ll stick to the road! 😂
