Blēo is a colour house. We operate at the intersection of surfaces, spaces and objects.

We collaborate with visionaries worldwide—in the overlapping fields of art, architecture, design, and fashion—on developing essential colours and textures.

Two years ago, shortly after the launch of Blēo, we introduced a special collaboration with the Josef & Anni Albers Foundation.

The Josef Albers Color Interactions Palette draws on six original plates from Interaction of Color. Following an extensive process of testing and refinement, more than 200 hues were narrowed down to a palette of 29 colours, translated into architectural paint.

The accompanying campaign, photographed in Copenhagen, explores Albers’ approach to colour through a series of sculptural installations and their changing colour relationships.

A collaboration that remains particularly meaningful to us.

Featured in ELLE DK / ELLE Decoration Danmark. In the home of writer, editor and creative director , who lives here with his wife and son.
In the bedroom, walls are painted in NO AR 20 Pale Beach by Norm Architects, a light, warm beige with neutral undertones. The ceiling is painted in YV KO 08 Sky by Yvonne Koné, a muted, pale blue. The two colours create a subtle contrast, complemented by blue textiles, natural wood and warm-toned details

Tiles by Sabine Marcelis explore glow, clarity and the soft, luminous quality that defines her work. Colour is applied to the reverse of the glass in a uniform layer, creating a consistent and refined surface. The natural translucency of the material introduces depth and allows light to interact with colour, subtly shifting its appearance throughout the day. Grounded in stone yet illuminated through glass, the collection brings a distinct sense of depth, reflection and colour to architectural spaces.

Tiles by Conie Vallese bring a glossy surface, handmade texture and a distinctive graphic expression to PHOEBE.

CO VA 07 Tronco and CO VA 18 Arena form a chequerboard of deep red-brown and warm cream, extending from the floor onto the lower walls. The compact 10x10 cm format creates a precise geometric pattern, contrasted by subtle irregularities in the glaze, surface and edges of each tile.

At the home of Cathrine de Lichtenberg, colour becomes an integral part of the architecture. Blēo tones extend across ceilings, walls and woodwork, creating a cohesive interior with subtle contrasts between surfaces. Featuring NO DE 06 Shadow Blue by Note Design Studio on the ceilings, NO AR 17 Shifting Sands by Norm Architects on the walls, and BA OS 17 Moss by Barber Osgerby on woodwork and panels.

A private home in Copenhagen. In Cathrine de Lichtenberg’s home, colour acts as a material, creating calm and a quiet spatial rhythm. Blēo tones unify the space across walls, ceilings and woodwork, allowing colour to define the architecture.

The Method Trocadéro in Paris.
The space brings movement, recovery and atmosphere together inside a Haussmannian building. YV KO 19 Candy, from Yvonne Koné’s palette for Blēo, appears as a defining colour throughout the interior, soft, warm and immersive. Designed by Lars Seiler

Located in a detached brick house in Vanløse, Copenhagen, this home belongs to a family of four and their dog. The renovation uses Halleroed’s Chronicles palette throughout the house, assigning individual colours to different rooms while maintaining continuity across the interior. HA RO 17 Mercer Street forms the primary backdrop across the main living spaces, and HA RO 03 Paris Red appears in HIGH GLOSS on selected ceilings, metal beams and original doors and wood work. Oak flooring, stainless steel, painted surfaces and existing timber details define the material palette. Together, the colours establish a consistent framework that connects the different spaces while allowing each room to retain its own character
