Want to grow massive garlic!? First, choose cold-hardy hardneck varieties like Music, which produce extra-large bulbs with four to six jumbo cloves. Second, plant the largest cloves from the biggest bulbs, about four to six inches deep, four to six weeks before your first hard frost, usually early to mid-October in zone three. Third, mulch heavily with six to eight inches of straw after planting to protect roots and prevent heaving, then remove it gradually in spring.

To grow large organic garlic: #1. Start with certified organic seed garlic, not grocery store cloves.
#2. Plant in fall around October in most zones.
#3. Use rich, well-drained soil with plenty of compost or aged manure.
#4. Give bulbs space to grow by planting them six to eight inches apart.
#5. Consistent moisture, about an inch of water per week, is key, especially as they form bulbs in spring..

This time of year makes me a little sad as the busy bees that once made the garden buzz and bloom start to fade away. Growing a garden gives you such an appreciation for bees! This little guy crawled right up my arm without hesitation, we had a moment, and then I laid him to rest. It’s time to rest now little one. 🤲🐝

Absolutely adore these vibrant colours in the flower garden.

The Purple Prince Oriental Trumpet Lilies with large, deep lavender-purple blooms are known for their stately appearance and strong stems, often growing quite tall in the garden.

The Purple Coneflower not only has vibrant colour, it is highly attractive to pollinators, specifically bees and butterflies, and are drought-tolerant once established.

Both perfect additions to a colourful and active garden. Happy gardening!
