OKAY – we’re hiring an experienced Senior Locator, so you know the gig. What you don’t know if that we’ve been around for 20 years, primarily serving the upstream oil and gas industry.

Job Responsibilities & Ideal Candidate:
• As a Senior Locator, your primary role is to complete the line locate survey, while following our codes of practice and adhering to our high quality standards.
• Acting professionally when interacting with clients and work colleagues.
• Supervise a locator assistant to get the job done efficiently, effectively, and safely.
• Be a mentor and train assistants and Senior Line Locator trainees.
• Always ensure task-readiness. This means that you and your assistant have all the prerequisite work and safety equipment when your start any job.
• Be open to learning new skills and incorporate new technology to offer a better service to our clients.
• Have the training and experience to understand, follow, and interpret survey & engineering plans, utility mapping, and pipeline reports.
• Calibrate and function test locating & safety equipment.
• Drive work trucks, ATV’s, UTV’s, and snowmobiles to access worksites.
• Participate in and contribute to our company and client safety & QA systems.
• Maintain and organize field units, worksites, and the office.
• Other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications:
• A minimum of one year experience working as a senior line locator in the oil and gas industry. Survey experience will be considered.
• Valid line locator certification from Locate Management, Global Training, or EMLOC. Other reputable sources for line locator training will be considered.
• Experience on ATV’s, UTV’s, and snowmobiles is a requirement. Valid CSA training tickets on this equipment is a strong asset.
• Strong technology and computer skills to generate line locate documentation.
• Mandatory safety certifications: H2S Alive, First Aid Level 1, Ground Disturbance Level II and Common Safety Orientation.
• A valid driver's license is a requirement for this position.
• Must be willing and able to work overtime and weekends, as needed.
• Must be willing to stay and work away from Fort St. John for extended periods of time when necessary.
• Must be willing and able to stay in camp for extended periods.
• Must possess the fitness and stamina to work outdoors, for long hours, in all seasons. Typical work days include walking cumulative distances between 5 – 12km.
• Must have the ability and physical capacity to lift 50 Ibs.
• Must be able to pass pre-employment, site & project specific pre-access, and post incident drug & alcohol testing.
