We’re proud to share that Benalla P–12 College Stage 1 & 2 has been recognised at the 2026 Victorian School Design Awards, winning the Large School Project – Value Above $15 Million category.

A project centred on renewal, identity and opportunity, Benalla P–12 College has transformed from a collection of ageing and temporary facilities into a cohesive, contemporary learning environment that reflects the aspirations of its school community.

Delivered across two connected stages, the project includes the STEAM Centre and Library (Stage 1) and the Administration, Food Technology and Canteen building (Stage 2B), creating welcoming spaces that support learning, connection and wellbeing.

The judges recognised the project for its:
'Design approach that creates a unique identity for the college, reshaping how students, staff, families and visitors understand the school.'

We're opening the doors of Glenroy Community Hub as part of International Passivhaus Open Days, 13–15 November 2026 — and we'd love you to join us.

Walk through the building with DesignInc Director and Project Leader Kieran Leong, see how airtightness, insulation and fresh-air ventilation come together, and ask anything you like about comfort, cost and construction.

The newly opened Wirrigirri Primary School Early Learning Centre places learning on display through strong visual connections between indoor spaces, outdoor play areas and the wider school campus. Generous glazing, open transitions and landscape views strengthen children’s connection to nature while supporting a smooth transition into primary school.

Murrum Primary School is a new supported inclusion campus in Weir Views designed to bring students and staff together within a shared and welcoming learning environment. A central sequence of courtyards connects the school’s key facilities, creating a clear social heart for learning, gathering and community use. Circular forms and yarning spaces are integrated throughout the architecture and landscape, providing inclusive places for storytelling, conversation, shared learning and connection to Country.

Kinbase Child and Adolescent Mental Health Clinic is now open, and we can't wait to share it with you. In the meantime, we're looking back at the journey. Our DesignInc and Architectus team recently visited Melton Hospital to see the progress on site firsthand. It was a great opportunity to take in the scale of the building we have been working on together over the past 18 months.

The Stage 2B addition at Benalla P–12 College creates flexible food technology, canteen, dining and staff spaces that adapt to changing school and community programs.

Operable walls allow rooms to expand, contract or connect, supporting everyday school use, teaching, student-led catering, larger gatherings, community events and after-hours hire. This flexibility enables the building to respond to different activities, group sizes and levels of public access throughout the day.

Benalla P–12 College Stage 2B introduces a new gateway building for administration, food technology, canteen and community use. Two simple east–west building forms strengthen the campus entry while supporting passive environmental performance.

Sustainability and wellbeing are embedded through all-electric systems, solar PV, natural ventilation, improved insulation and airtightness, low-toxicity materials, natural light, acoustic comfort and strong connections to the central courtyard, landscape and outdoor learning areas.

Maribyrnong Civic Precinct + Community Hub Redevelopment has received a commendation in the Sustainability Advancement category at the 2026 Australian Interior Design Awards.

This redevelopment celebrates and connects the heritage of Footscray Town Hall. With new community spaces, agile workspaces and a new community park, it delivers a new 6-Star Green Star Design-rated building.

We’re so proud of the project team and congratulate the participating and winning practices in the 2026 Awards.
