🔨 FORMWORK CARPENTER – LOGANHOLME 🔨

Queensland Precast Solutions is looking for an experienced, high quality Formwork Carpenter to join us at our Loganholme facility.

QPS works closely with Rail & Civil, specialising in custom precast concrete for civil and rail projects. We currently manufacture precast bridge structures, drainage products and rail infrastructure, along with custom precast solutions to suit individual projects.

We’re looking for someone who has spent years working on civil and construction sites and is ready for something different.

The majority of your work will be based at our Loganholme yard, with much of the formwork completed undercover rather than spending every day working out on site or down in the trenches.

This isn’t a production line precast role. Our work is custom and project based, so we need a proper formwork carpenter who can read drawings, set out, problem solve and build high quality formwork from start to finish.

You’ll be expected to take ownership of your jobs and be capable of working unsupervised as well as part of a crew.

The role will also include taking pride in and maintaining the yard, tools, company vehicle and equipment to a high standard.

🚧 WEEKEND RAIL WORK – BRISBANE & SEQ 🚧

Rail & Civil are looking for additional workers across a variety of roles to assist with upcoming rail shutdowns throughout Brisbane and SEQ.

If you’re looking for extra work and are available for weekend and shutdown work, we’d like to hear from you.

We’re looking for:
• Labourers
• Carpenters / formworkers
• Concreters
• Asphalt workers
• Excavator and plant operators
• Truck drivers
• Rope access workers
• Other skilled civil and construction workers

Current RIW and relevant Queensland Rail tickets/competencies are required for rail-based roles.

We have plenty of upcoming work and are looking to build a reliable pool of experienced people available for weekend and shutdown work.

ROPE ACCESS WORKERS REQUIRED THIS WEEKEND
We are looking for experienced rope access workers for embankment works in Ipswich this Saturday and Sunday, 22nd and 23rd August.
The work involves installing matting to an embankment.
Queensland Rail RIW and relevant rail competencies are preferred. However, if you don’t currently have them, we may be able to arrange visitor access.

Dates:
Saturday 22nd & Sunday 23rd August

Requirements:
• IRATA Level 2 or Level 3 preferred (Level 1s with relevant experience may be considered)
• Geotechnical/embankment experience highly regarded
• Current RIW
• SARC
• WET
• Able to work safely in a rail corridor

🚨 Rail & Civil – Rope Access Technicians Wanted (Dec 20, 21, 22, 23, 27 & 28) 🚨

Rail & Civil are looking for Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 Rope Access Technicians to assist with batter stabilisation works within the rail corridor around the Brisbane C*D.

You’ll be required to work in with our team and assist with general labouring on ropes, as well as support a range of stabilisation tasks.

Work will include:
• General labouring on rope
• Working in with our team on batter stabilisation
• Shotcreting support
• General embankment and civil works

Top rates paid for the right candidates.

To be considered, you’ll ideally have:
✔️ RIW
✔️ Queensland Rail tickets
✔️ Rope access experience in civil/rail environments

Sandgate Culvert Replacement: Navigating Safety, Environmental, & Engineering Challenges

This culvert replacement wasn’t straightforward. During stormwater upgrades, acid sulphate soils were uncovered—adding serious environmental risk. Rail & Civil responded with strict controls to safely manage excavation and disposal.

The team also faced safety concerns beyond the usual rail hazards, including vulnerable individuals near the site. Coordinating closely with safety officers, they ensured community risks were addressed without compromising progress.

Finally, when precast pits proved unworkable due to site and soil conditions, Rail & Civil pivoted—building a custom in-situ pit using specialist crews and equipment. The tailored solution met both environmental constraints and the project’s tight timeline.
