ELECTRICAL SAFETY IS NOT OPTIONAL.

DIY electrical work can have devastating consequences.

This photo is a confronting reminder of what can happen when electrical connections fail.

The visible burning and heat damage are serious warning signs of an electrical fault, with the potential for fire, electric shock, serious injury or even loss of life.

Electrical work is not something to experiment with, take shortcuts on, or attempt to save a few dollars.

In Queensland, electrical work must be carried out by appropriately licensed professionals. There is a reason for this. Electrical safety standards exist to protect lives, families and properties.

A connection that appears to work does not necessarily mean it is safe.

At REPARE, we take electrical safety seriously. We urge everyone to do the same.

If you suspect faulty wiring, damaged connections or unsafe electrical work, do not attempt to repair it yourself. Have it inspected by a licensed electrician.

Your safety and the safety of those around you are worth more than the cost of doing the job properly.

We've spent a good part of the week trying to explain to Richard that International Repair Day is NOT, in fact, another day dedicated to celebrating him! ๐Ÿคฆโ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ˜‚

Apparently, having a business called REPARE has gone straight to his head! ๐Ÿคฃ

We've tried explaining that it's about fixing things, reducing waste and giving things a second chance...

Richard's response? "So... it's basically my day then?" ๐Ÿ˜Ž

At this point, we've given up arguing. ๐Ÿ™„

So Happy International Repair Day to everyone, but especially to Richard, who will undoubtedly be accepting congratulations, compliments and possibly cake. ๐ŸŽ‚๐Ÿ˜‚

FRIDAY HIGHLIGHT OF THE WEEK!

THE GREAT POWDERFINGER TICKET PANIC OF 2026!

Now, technically, this week's highlight happened on Wednesday at precisely 10:30am.

And no, it wasn't a massive electrical job, a tricky air conditioning installation or a record-breaking day on the tools.

It was something far more stressful...

POWDERFINGER PRESALE TICKETS!

Picture this...

The boss and office crew, eyes glued to their screens, fingers hovering over keyboards, heart rates climbing and productivity temporarily redirected to a VERY important mission.

SECURE. THOSE. TICKETS.

The clock was ticking.

Tickets were disappearing faster than cold air through an open door in summer.

The tension was REAL.

Then, suddenly, the words we'd all been waiting for...

"I'VE GOT 'EM! QUICK, LET ME PAY FOR THEM!"

Cue absolute chaos.

Nobody breathe. Nobody touch anything. DON'T YOU DARE LET THAT PAGE TIME OUT!

And then...

"GOT EM!!!!"

The relief. The celebrations. The collective exhale.

Honestly, we've had switchboard upgrades with less pressure.

So, if you happen to spot the REPARE office crew at Powderfinger next September, just know that those tickets weren't simply purchased.

THEY WERE EARNED.

Through stress, sweat, determination, teamwork and possibly a few years off our lives.

And if Wednesday taught us anything, it's this...

THE TEAM THAT GOES TO POWDERFINGER TOGETHER, WORKS WELL TOGETHER!

Now, back to running an electrical and air conditioning business. Apparently, that's what we're actually paid to do.
