This one was a challenge from day 1. Like many roofs out there, the previous painters didn’t prime the roof, leaving the client disheartened and disappointed. A mate put us onto the client to see if we could help out. Wasn’t sure about it due to amount of rust and paint coming off but decided to follow the correct procedures and keeping communication open, letting the client know throughout the whole process the condition of the roof and potential issues with painting over a roof which had been painted and not primed.
Got it washed and had 500 screw replaced, then it rained for 2 and a half months and about then as soon as the sun come out we replaced up to 90% of the screws. Washed it again. Epoxied the rust around the perimeter of the roof, rust treated the ramining screws. Hit it again with a turbo head to remove any loose paint. Each day we had to give the roof a rinse, due to leafs and debris from trees around the property. Letting each coat dry overnight. Primed and applied 2 coats of Dulux Metal Roof Renew. We completed final coat today. We couldn’t be happier with the effort from the boys, who gave this job 100%. The before and afters are 👌
The progress photos show the challenges we experienced. Photos and spraying by shawns_painting , Kevin on the hose and assisted by Resty and Kealyn. Team work makes the dream work.
