*Update: Works were undertaken last week and the water treatment plant is back online.

ALL OF CAIRNS: critical works are scheduled for our water network tomorrow and are expected to last for 36 hours.

Please store water today and be mindful of your water use. Avoid watering gardens or lawns, delay high-use activities such as washing cars or topping up pools, and take shorter showers.

If you experience a noticeable drop in water pressure, discolouration of water or an interruption, please contact our Customer Service on 1300 69 22 47.

Thank you for your understanding.

Edit:
We do not anticipate these works will have an impact on your water supply. There should not be any change to your supply or water pressure. In the unlikely event you do notice any changes, please call Council Customer Service on 1300 69 22 47.

Thank you to all our past and present ADF members.

Heavy rain can disrupt Cairnsโ€™ water supply. With some reservoirs offline and treatment plants affected by dirty water, short interruptions are possible.

โœ”๏ธ Store drinking water in clean, food-grade containers
โœ”๏ธ Keep it in a cool & dark place and refresh every 3 months
โœ”๏ธ Save non-drinking water (rain, shower, or pool water) for toilets and gardens

A little preparation means you can still drink, cook and clean if water services are disrupted.
