A little appreciation post for the man behind Coral Coast Tree Care 🌳

This is James, our Head Arborist, the face you’ll meet when you request a quote, and the same bloke who’ll be up the tree doing the work! 💪

We’re a small family business, and that’s something we’re really proud of. With nearly 20 years of experience, James is still on the tools with our crew every day; climbing, cutting, rigging, grinding and getting stuck into whatever the job throws at him.

If you’ve met James, you’ll probably know he’s one of the happiest men alive. He loves a good banter, has a quick wit, and somehow manages to keep that huge smile on his face even when it’s absolutely bucketing down! ☔️😂

We’re incredibly blessed with the crew around him too. They’re highly skilled and experienced, but more importantly, they’re genuinely great blokes and good friends.

Underneath the trees, chainsaws and muddy boots, James is first and foremost a family man. He absolutely lives for his three little kids, and when he’s not working, he loves nothing more than taking his family camping and fishing, getting the kids outdoors and making those special family memories. 🎣

So, here’s to James; the bloke behind the quotes, the chainsaw, the cheeky grin and the very muddy boots.

We’re pretty lucky to have him. ❤️

Looking after one of Cairns’ iconic Raintrees. 🌳

Our team carried out a canopy reduction, removed hazardous deadwood, lifted the canopy to improve clearance, and completed selective pruning to help keep this magnificent tree healthy, safe, and structurally sound for years to come.

Many people assume arborists simply remove trees, but a large part of what we do is preserving them. Thoughtful, professional pruning improves tree health, reduces risk, and allows mature trees like this to continue enhancing our beautiful tropical landscape.

Great arboriculture isn’t about removing trees; it’s about knowing how to care for them, preserve them, and only removing them when there’s no better option. 🌳

🌳 Why is regular tree pruning important? 🌳

Regular pruning and canopy reduction do far more than improve the appearance of your trees.

By selectively reducing weight throughout the canopy, pruning can:

✔️ Improve tree structure and stability
✔️ Reduce the risk of branch failure during strong winds and storms
✔️ Remove dead, damaged or diseased growth
✔️ Encourage healthy new growth
✔️ Increase light and airflow through the canopy
✔️ Help maintain safe clearances around homes, sheds and other assets

This mature tree received a careful canopy reduction this morning, reducing end-weight throughout the crown while retaining its natural shape and character.

If your trees haven’t been professionally pruned in a number of years, now is a great time to have them assessed.
