Snapshot of the progress at

A custom home designed by bau architects and built by our team in Cairns.

Good plans build good houses.

The biggest mistake we see is rushing the design to get to the build. But the plans are where your home is really made.

A well designed home means

✔️ a home that fits how your family actually lives
✔️ accurate pricing, with fewer surprises
✔️ fewer changes on site, and fewer costly variations
✔️ a home that still works for you in 20 years

Investing in great plans with a great architect, and bringing your builder in early to review them, is the smartest money you’ll spend on your forever home.

Save this for your forever home inspiration 🏡❤️

mowbray_house was recognised at the 2026 FNQMaster Builders Housing & Construction Awards with three awards:

🏆 House of the Year
🏆 Individual Home $5–10M
🏆 Best Residential Kitchen

Designed by kelder architects and built by our team, this home shows what happens when architect and builder work as one. The design intent was protected, every detail was considered, and it was built to last in the tropics.

This is the standard we bring to every forever home we build.

Thank you to Kelder Architects, our trades and suppliers, and our clients for trusting us with their home.

Can I ask a favour?

We've been heads down building a new website to showcase our latest projects and we're really proud of how it's come together.
Here's the thing with new websites: they need visits to get found on Google. So if you've got two minutes, clicking the link and having a browse is one of the best ways you can support us.
And if you really want to make our day - share it with your friends.
