It’s been a huge few weeks at Ingham Golf Club. We now have 5 greens with turf on the surrounds and 5 greens have been stolonised. 🙌

At the end of this week, turf should be down on all 9 surrounds with the remainder of the greens set for stolonising next week. 💪

Massive thanks to the team at McMahons for their ongoing effort on this landmark project. Also to Top Notch Turf for working with us on delivery timeframes for turf and stolons 🙏

Here’s a short video of the stolonising process on the 13th green, through to day 12. The stolons have taken well and are already spreading laterally. Grow in time is estimated at around 12 weeks.

Thanks to Queensland Department of Sport for the funding for this project. The recovery works are jointly funded by the Australian and Queensland Governments under the Sport and Recreation Recovery Grant (SRRG) program for repairs and restoration of playing surface to re-establish golf at Ingham.

Super exciting to see the first delivery of turf go down today at Ingham Golf Club. Even better with a few showers in the area ☔️

A 1.6m width of Tahoma collar went down with the balance of the surrounds in Winter Green Couch. Massive thanks to Chris and Shana at Top Notch Turf for working alongside the Club on this one. Turf looked mint 👌

More turf booked for Friday and the first round of stolons next week. 🙌

This is an essential part of fine turf management, with an incredible amount of thatch being removed from the profile. Super excited to see the results when I return to Rocky in a week's time! 🤩

Final trim at Ingham Golf Club ready for the first load of grass to go down next week 🙌

It’s been a busy few weeks. Massive shout out to McMahons and Project Irrigation for all their hard work on this one. 🙏

And also to the amazing volunteer crew and committee at this small, regional club that work tirelessly to make things like this happen. 😎 ⛳️

It wouldn’t be a major event in Cairns without some ongoing weather interruptions! But it was a pleasure walking the track at Cairns Jockey Club this morning. 🤩

Despite an unwanted 22mm of rain this week, the track has handled it extremely well and is rated a Soft 6 this morning. ☔️

With some sunshine and breeze today, hopefully we see another upgrade ahead of tomorrow’s Cairns Amateurs. ☀️ 💨

A huge credit to the track team for the way it’s presenting heading into one of the biggest days on the Cairns racing calendar. 👏🐎

I genuinely enjoy visiting all of my clients, but it's especially rewarding when you can see a course moving rapidly in the right direction. 🤩

I posted about Cardwell GOLF CLUB a couple of months ago, but it's hard not to post about them again. The greens there at the moment are the best I've ever seen them. Sure, we hit a bump in the road over the wet season with some Mealy Bug pressure, but what a recovery they've made. 🙌

What I really like though, is that the improvement hasn't come from throwing huge amounts of money at the problem. The final few 328 greens are now being progressively transitioned to Mountain Green through a plugging program. It's a sustainable, practical and affordable approach that continues to build momentum with every visit. ⛳

The other thing that makes my job easy is the people. Kev and the volunteer team back the plan, stick to the maintenance program and put in the work week after week. That's why the course keeps getting better. 😎

I'm proud to play a small part in the journey and genuinely excited to see where Cardwell Golf Club is another 12 months from now. Keep up the great work, team. 👏

Earthworks continue across the new greens as the transformation takes shape. Every stage is bringing the project one step closer to delivering modern, resilient USGA-specification putting surfaces that will serve the club for decades to come. 🙌

🚜 Ground has officially been broken! 🙌

This week marked a major milestone for Ingham Golf Club, with construction officially commencing on the club's exciting Greens Reconstruction Project.

After many months of planning, design, tendering and preparation, it's incredible to see the McMahons machinery on site and the project now underway. Over the coming weeks, members will see the transformation begin as the existing greens are reconstructed to modern USGA specifications, delivering more consistent playing surfaces, improved drainage and greater resilience to future weather events, while enhancing the golfing experience for many years to come.

A huge thank you to the Ingham Golf Club Committee for their vision and to McMahons for making the trip north and getting the project underway. 🙏

I'm incredibly proud to be acting as a Project Manager on this exciting development and look forward to sharing regular progress updates as construction continues.
The future is looking very bright for Ingham Golf Club. ⛳️

Congratulations to the Rockhampton Jockey Club on the successful running of Thursday’s Newmarket and yesterday’s Rockhampton Cup.

It was fantastic to hear such positive feedback on the racing surface, with the track widely described as fair and having raced well across both feature meetings.

Congratulations to all of the staff at the Rockhampton Jockey Club for their efforts leading into and throughout Carnival. Preparing for an event like this takes planning, dedication and hard work, and everyone involved should be proud of the result.

While there are still areas we’re continuing to refine behind the scenes, I’m very positive about the direction of the track and it’s pleasing to see that work reflected on race day.
