$64.16 per hour | Monday–Friday | Overtime Available

GMH Solutions is seeking one qualified electrician to join our Cairns team for ongoing commercial and general electrical work.
Immediate start

• Monday-to-Friday work

Mandatory Requirements

• Current Queensland Electrical Work Licence
• Current CPR/LVR certification
• Construction White Card
• Current driver’s licence
• Ability to drive both manual and automatic vehicles
• General and commercial electrical experience
• Their own complete trade tool kit, including suitable insulated hand tools, cordless power tools and a Category IV multimeter

A significant achievement for one of our own at GMH Solutions.

Linden has officially completed his electrical apprenticeship and, alongside this achievement was selected as a finalist in the Tropical North Queensland Training Awards.

Linden joined GMH Solutions as an existing mature age apprentice and has demonstrated throughout his apprenticeship that becoming a great tradesperson is about far more than demonstrating technical ability.

He has developed into an exceptionally capable electrician who is accurate and thorough in his work, professional with customers, a strong communicator with his fellow tradespeople, and someone who can be relied upon to take responsibility when it is needed.

One of Linden’s greatest strengths has been the way he has supported the younger apprentices working alongside him, naturally taking on a greater responsibility, helping organise the team, making sure the younger apprentices were accounted for and looked after and setting an example through his own work ethic and conduct.

His selection as a Training Awards finalist is particularly fitting because it recognises more than simply completing an apprenticeship. It reflects the values, character, commitment and professionalism Linden has demonstrated throughout his journey.

Completing an electrical apprenticeship is an achievement in itself. Completing it while becoming someone that other apprentices, tradespeople and customers can genuinely rely upon is something greater again.

Congratulations Linden, with becoming a qualified tradesperson and on earning recognition as a Training Awards finalist. Both are thoroughly deserved achievements.

What does that work mean to you?

For us, it means providing quality and safety with efficiency.

The first photo above is of a switchboard inside a commercial kitchen, with a a retrofitted Emergency Stop control. This part of the work was done well, however, some major problems with previous work by others was found within the switchboard and advised to our customer.

Our customer considered the serviceability and safety of the switchboard, where they decided to replace it.

The second photo is our new switchboard which has replaced the old. It’s complete with a main supply chassis and separate Emergency Stop control chassis which allows better service separation.

It’s neat, safe, gives greater functionality and was finished in a day 👏🏻

Change.

It can be uncomfortable, daunting and sometimes difficult to understand or comprehend. Unfortunately without change, growth will be halted and opportunities for real improvement will never truly present themselves.

Sometimes change is also immediately positive, such as the way the business is moving, and especially with the intention of always being better and wanting better, for everyone.

Currently, the managing director is working through all documents that are within the company’s management profile, spending countless hours to make continual and necessary change and always for the greater good.
