Skylake Drilling & Civils Statement on the Lake Kariba Ferry Tragedy
Skylake Drilling & Civils is deeply saddened by the tragic loss of life following the Lake Kariba ferry accident. We extend our heartfelt condolences to the families and friends who have lost loved ones, and to the entire Kariba community during this time of immense grief.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the survivors, those who remain missing, and every family anxiously awaiting news of their loved ones. No words can truly ease the pain of such a devastating loss, but we stand in solidarity with all those affected.
We commend the Civil Protection Department, emergency response teams, local authorities, healthcare workers, volunteers, and community members who continue to work tirelessly under extremely difficult circumstances. Their courage, resilience, and selfless dedication in the face of tragedy deserve our deepest respect and gratitude.
As an organisation committed to serving communities across Zimbabwe, we recognise the importance of prioritising safety, preparedness, and responsible infrastructure development. This tragedy serves as a solemn reminder of the need for continued investment in transport safety, disaster preparedness, and effective emergency response systems to help protect lives.
At this difficult time, we mourn with the families who have lost loved ones, stand with the survivors and the people of Kariba.
We honour the bravery of all rescue and emergency response teams keeping those still missing and their families in our thoughts and prayers.
