WHAT IS A DRY HOLE ?
A dry hole means we drilled and found NO water at all - no fractures, no aquifer. The rock is completely dry.
But in most cases in Zimbabwe, it is NOT a dry hole.
What happens during drilling:
During drilling we use high air pressure. This pressure can temporarily push the water back into the rock fractures. So at that moment, it looks like there is no water.
After we stop drilling and remove the pressure, the water needs time to recover and flow back from the cracks and fractures.
It can take 30 minutes, a few hours, or even 24-48 hours for the water to come back.
So we say: It's not a dry hole, it's just waiting for recovery.
