After screed we managed to install 9 boxes of tiles with 10 bags of tile fix only.
Yes you can do 9 boxes with 10 bags without screed but the difference is levels. That is why screeding is very important before tiling.
Level floor adds more value to the house. As the world evolves people will start seeing their houses ugly if the floor is not level.
That is why I always advise a premium finish. We tile once. You won't need renovations after 6 months because you want bigger tiles.
Do it right the first time.
