The Beginning
Our business , BF Digger Hire , started on a Sunday evening in 2016 , over a cup of coffee . Marius and Natie decided to “speculate” with buying 2 x JCB TLB’s . It was a gamble that took of imediately due to our good friends that became regular customers . 4 month’s later we bought a 3rd machine and decided that our “side-line” business was now at maximum capacity and would not grow any bigger . Boy were we wrong .
In 2017 we added a new company , AKHA Rental (Pty)Ltd together with 2 x Partners . Our core business at that stage were mostly Agricultural work , but with the addition of AKHA Rental we started targeting the construction market . In November 2017 , Natie joined BF Digger Hire on a permanent basis .
With a few strategic alliances , the business took of at a speed that none were really prepared for . Currently we are running 13 machines in the Agricultural sector and approximately 18 machines in the Construction sector .
In this very short time , we came to the conclusion that 2 x people can’t manage this many machines on a permanent basis . We decided to work more closely with one of our strategic alliances , and in May 2018 , BF Hire (Pty)Ltd was formed by BF Digger Hire and Boland Grondwerke . This is a very strong partnership , with Natie and Neels handling the day to day management of the new company .
