🌱 What have we been up to on the irrigation side of Optimus Agri?

From March through July, Optimus Agri’s Luan Retief has been assisting Vegtech Netafim as Lead Supervisor for the irrigation and electrical works at a major 22-hectare reforestation nursery being developed for Mamaland in Malawi.

Now entering the final stages of completion, the nursery has been designed to produce an impressive 11 million Miombo seedlings every year—supporting large-scale reforestation and long-term environmental restoration in Malawi.

Delivering a project of this scale requires close coordination between multiple teams, careful attention to detail and practical problem-solving on site. Luan has been responsible for supervising the irrigation and electrical installation activities and helping ensure that the systems are installed to the required standards.

It has been a privilege for Optimus Agri to contribute our technical experience and hands-on site leadership to a project with such significant long-term impact.

Thank you to Vegtech Netafim, Mamaland and the entire project team for the opportunity and collaboration.

The last few months have been accompanied by a completely unplanned social media silence, simply due to running arround quite a bit!

From setting up our new base in Klipdale in the Overberg, to new projects in Montagu, Riversdale and Somerset West and even including a trip to Netherlands with a stop in Brussels.

Very blessed to be involved with amazing people. More to follow soon!
