This Stanford home, painted in Mumbai Pink, is a study in how dramatically colour can shift with its surroundings.
In one light, the pink softens into something almost grey-purple. In another, it becomes unmistakably pink. Across different surfaces, the same colour takes on yet another quality as texture, shadow and light interact with the paint.
It’s a reminder that colour doesn't exist in isolation.
Light changes it. Surfaces change it. Time of day changes it.
And that's what makes paint so interesting in design - the same colour can tell a completely different story depending on where, and how, it is used.
