Another successful intervention by Team Vetus Schola!

At 02:48, our Control Room received a CCTV activation: an individual was detected moving through the parking area of near our Somerset West Office.

H04 was immediately notified and dispatched. On arrival, our officer apprehended the suspect, who was found in possession of pool covers allegedly stolen from the neighbouring property. The Pool and Fire Space, a Securite client.

Shortly thereafter, Securite security personnel arrived in response to an alarm activation at the premises. The client and SAPS were contacted and arrived on scene. A case was opened and SAPS OW69 took control of the scene.

This is what happens when proactive monitoring, rapid armed response and strong inter-agency collaboration come together. Crime stopped in its tracks.

On 9 August, Sweet Paws & Country Animal Clinic will sterilise 50 dogs and cats in a single day.

Not because it’s easy. Because every unwanted litter means more puppies and kittens dumped on the streets, more animals going hungry and more suffering in our communities.

On Tuesday 7 July 2026, our Intelligence ANPR network flagged a vehicle linked to multiple pickpocketing incidents across the Western Cape.

In these cases, a child was allegedly being used to steal cell phones from patrons at restaurants and retail stores. We had approximately 8 reported incidents connected to this vehicle.

The A-Team was immediately mobilised, a BOLO was issued, and our vigilant members quickly located the vehicle. They followed it professionally until it turned into Victoria Street, where it was successfully stopped right in front of our offices.

Meto assisted on scene and SAPS were called immediately. The vehicle and suspects were handed over to the South African Police Service for further investigation.

Successful Recovery: Stolen Vehicle Located & Suspects Arrested

On Tuesday 7 July 2026 our Intelligence ANPR network flagged a stolen vehicle. The alert was immediately verified, a BOLO was issued and the A-Team was mobilised to get eyes on the target.

True to form, one of our vigilant members quickly spotted the vehicle and began following it along the N2 towards Cape Town. Other A-Team members rapidly made their way to the area while SAPS Macassar was informed and responded.

The suspects pulled into the Shell garage on the N2. As the occupants were walking back to the vehicle, SAPS arrived on scene. Two suspects were arrested on the spot and the stolen vehicle was towed to the pound.

Another excellent result thanks to the sharp eyes, quick response, and outstanding teamwork of the A-Team and the entire Vetus Schola network!

Our Control Room received a radio call from Vanessa of the Sir Lowry’s Pass Neighbourhood Watch reporting a stolen laptop.

H4 was immediately dispatched and arrived on scene at 12:25. Upon arrival, it was confirmed that a suspect had broken in through a cottage window and fled with the laptop. H4, together with an on-site officer, swiftly searched the area and successfully apprehended the suspect.

Sir Lowry’s Pass SAPS were notified, but due to a delayed response, the client assisted in transporting the suspect to the station. We are pleased to confirm that the stolen laptop was fully recovered and safely returned to the owner.

Well done to H4 and all involved for the fast action and professional handling of the situation!

At 04:21 our Control Centre received a call from Ngova Security reporting suspicious individuals on the premises.

Response Units H23 and H4 were immediately dispatched. Upon arrival, our officers found the rear perimeter fence had been cut and suspects had gained access to the hardware store, removing several roof sheets.

The client was promptly notified and our teams conducted thorough patrols in the surrounding area. Working in close coordination with SAPS, our officers successfully located one suspect and recovered a significant portion of the stolen roof sheets. SAPS then took over the scene.

This is another example of Vetus Schola’s rapid response and commitment to protecting our clients’ property, day and night.

Positive Arrest | Trespassing
25 June 2026

On 15 June 2026, a photograph of a Bravo male was circulated in our neighbourhood watch group after he trespassed on the premises of a non-Vetus client. Sammy quickly identified the individual as a well-known housebreaker and shared the photo with the Armed Response team for immediate awareness.

Then, on 24 June 2026, while on patrol in the Paarl Rock area, P05 spotted a suspicious Bravo male walking in Kloof Street towards De Kleine Molen. After driving past, P05 positively identified him as the same suspect from the active trespassing case.

P05 immediately requested a Code 11 response and called for assistance from P08, P02, and P06. The team maintained excellent visual observation as the suspect continued towards Victoria Street.
P08 approached from Victoria Street while P05 and P02 positioned themselves strategically, successfully cornering the suspect at the intersection of Myburgh Street and Victoria Street.

Sam was contacted for the active case number and while awaiting SAPS, three members of the Detective department arrived on scene and took the suspect into custody. SAPS confirmed the case is active and the suspect has been detained.
