In the early hours this morning, our team once again demonstrated the value of rapid response and effective camera monitoring.

At 01:37, a client in Strand reported a suspected intruder jumping over their perimeter wall. The individual fled the scene. Units H10 and H23 were immediately dispatched and conducted a thorough search of the premises and surrounding areas. The suspect could not be located at that stage.

At approximately 02:39, our control room received a camera activation indicating movement in the area of Altena Street. H23 responded promptly, arriving on scene at 02:44 and positively identified the same suspect.

The individual was successfully apprehended on George Street, next to the fire station. A bag containing clothing, a music box, keys and small bottles was found in his possession.

SAPS were contacted and arrived at 05:35 to take the suspect into custody.

Well done to the officers involved for their persistence and professional handling of the incident. Another successful outcome for our clients and the Strand community.

This is the Vetus Schola difference. 24/7 vigilance, rapid response and effective coordination.

On Tuesday 29 September, our Intelligence ANPR network flagged a vehicle wanted in connection with ATM fraud. The vehicle was linked to multiple case numbers across the Western Cape.

A BOLO was immediately issued and the A-Team was mobilised.
One of our vigilant team members spotted the vehicle in the parking area of a well-known shopping centre. As the rest of the team converged, the vehicle exited the parking area and joined the N2 towards Cape Town.

The occupants realised they were being followed and attempted to lose the pursuing members in traffic. Our teams adapted quickly and Members further along the N2 were positioned to intercept. This coordination proved decisive.

When the vehicle was re-acquired, the suspects attempted to evade arrest. They abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot. Fortunately, the team was close enough to effect the arrest of one suspect.
This operation is a clear demonstration that teamwork pays off.

Well done to the A-Team, Team Vetus Schola, and all partners involved. Professional, coordinated, and effective.

Stay alert. Report suspicious activity. Together we keep the community safer.

On Tuesday 22 September 2026, the A-Team was requested to conduct observation on a vehicle suspected of involvement in a remote jamming incident that took place on Friday, 18 September in the Somerset Mall area.

The vehicle was observed for approximately 45 minutes. When it began to move, the team followed and relayed its direction to the advancing SAPS members. The vehicle stopped to refuel, at which point SAPS successfully intercepted it.

iPods were found in the suspect’s pocket. He was placed under arrest, after which a search of his residence was conducted. A bag, a cell phone and other stolen items were recovered.

Well done to SAPS, the A-Team, Team Vetus Schola and Wessel on a successful operation.

At 10:59 this morning, H23 radioed Control requesting SAPS assistance after successfully apprehending a suspect for theft of a handbag in George Street, Strand.

While positioning himself at his standoff point, H23 observed members of the public flagging him down. Centre security from OK Foods were in pursuit of a male suspect. H23 immediately responded, cornered the suspect in George Street and effected the arrest before calling for SAPS support.

It has since been established that the same suspect was captured on CCTV the previous day stealing a purse from the coffee shop adjacent to OK Foods. Today he targeted a handbag from the same premises.

Strand SAPS arrived on scene at 11:06. The suspect was formally arrested by SAPS.

Well done to H23 and the OK Foods security team for the swift and effective response.

Stay alert. Report suspicious activity. Together we keep Strand safer.
