Some calls remind us that being part of a community means so much more than security.
This week, our community was shaken by the discovery of a newborn baby who had been abandoned in a shopping centre bathroom in Somerset West. Thankfully, he was found alive, and an incredible network of people immediately came together to help him.
Secure Rite is incredibly proud to be associated with the Helderberg Baby Saver and to form part of the emergency response network supporting this important cause. When the emergency protocol was activated, Secure Rite Security and GB Med Rescue were among those called to assist, with the premature baby ultimately transported to hospital, where he was reported to be in a stable condition.
Behind this heartbreaking story is also one of hope.
The Helderberg Baby Saver provides a safe, anonymous alternative for someone who feels they have no other option. Since launching in 2014, it has given almost 20 babies a second chance at life.
We are incredibly proud to play even a small part in a cause that looks out for the most vulnerable members of our community, and grateful to every person, organisation and first responder who helps make that possible.
Sometimes protecting a community means preventing crime. Sometimes it means responding to an emergency. And sometimes, it means helping to protect a tiny life that has only just begun.
